#63-a flea, a fly, in a flue

September 14th, 2006

Flea, Fly, Flue

A flea, a fly, in a flue

were imprisoned, so what could they do?
Said the flea: "Let us fly!"
Said the fly: "Let us flee!"
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.

This is a rhyme I remembered reading from earlier years in an old rhyme book, perhaps even from Mother Goose.  I don't know the author, but this little one stuck in my head and is still there. I did some searching online and found several sites with different versions of it, and a couple of audio recordings.
